    Paul Harvey Podcast: (S01-E01) Overview of the Paul Harvey Podcast

    The Paul Harvey Podcast is a rebroadcast of selected episodes from Mr. Harvey's News and Comment and The Rest of the Story radio episodes. David Arendale is the host for the podcast. He is an associate professor of history at the University of Minnesota. Audio recordings of Mr. Harvey come from the audio libraries of and Mr. Paul Harvey was an American radio broadcaster for the ABC Radio Networks. He broadcast the News and Comment show on weekday mornings and mid-days, and at noon on Saturdays, as well as his famous The Rest of the Story shows. Those were a mix of history and mystery with a key fact withheld until the surprise ending of the episode. From the 1950s through the 1990s, Harvey's programs reached as many as 24 million people a week. Paul Harvey News was carried on 1,200 radio stations, 400 Armed Forces Network stations and 300 newspapers. Part of his attraction was a blending of his news reporting, expression of his personal values, love of God and America, heart-warming tales of average Americans, family values, and optimism for the future of America.
